Springing fourth

For me the season of spring has always been a beautiful reminder of our Heavenly Father’s faithfulness. During my daily walks in the nearby countryside, I am so grateful and blessed to walk beneath the blossom trees of spring as it is just one of the many ways in which the Lord was speaking to my heart in this season and as always with him just what I needed that week to encourage me. Only a few weeks ago the trees looked bare and lifeless as if nothing could ever grow again but with the turning season wild and beautiful blossoms fill the landscape once again and I am reminded of the following words spoken by our Heavenly Father recorded in Isaiah;

“So shall my word be that goes out from my mouth; it shall not return to me empty, but shall accomplish that which I purpose, and shall succeed in the thing for which I sent it. For you shall go out in joy and be led fourth in peace; the mountains and the hills before you shall break fourth into singing, and all the trees of the field shall clap their hands. Instead of a thorn shall come up the cypress; instead of the brier shall come up the myrtle: and it shall make a name for the Lord, an everlasting sign that shall not be cut off.”

Isaiah 55: 11-13

The flourishing of flowers that bloom every spring no matter what it looks like beforehand continue to reflect to me the way in which our Heavenly Father the master gardener works. He speaks life and light in all that He promises from the beginning and with each spoken word is the very life and power that brings what He has spoken to come fourth and it never returns to Him void. In each season His creative word is unfolding and bringing fourth his promises in due season and like the blossom trees that do not work or strive to bloom but by simply remaining will always bloom every spring.

It is a blessing to know that He does the same with us his children. In which in His love for us we have been forgiven, redeemed and restored back to our Heavenly Father through Jesus Christ as promised and spoken from the moment of the fall. Therefore as we continue to abide in his love for us we flourish in the fruit of the spirit and this new life that springs fourth through us is Jesus Christ himself.

So when the seemingly bleak winters of our own life try to discourage and deceive us from the truth of a loving Father let us not lose heart and remember God is always faithful and working even beneath seemingly dry and bare seasons of our lives and by his Holy Spirit will quicken our bodies to live the new life He has for us with new desires and power, accomplishing what He has already spoken and begun long ago through Jesus Christ His Son.

Let this season beautifully remind us that what our Heavenly Father has spoken will always come fourth no matter how bleak the seasons before or currently may seem, for nothing can stand against his word from springing fourth in our lives.
